Georgian elegy

Who has not been to Georgia – it’s a pity…
The smell of summer has already passed you by,
Where the magic veil is to blame
Warmed by a sunny feast,

You have not been touched by the celebration
Of the soul that flows in song,
You have not experienced the divinity
Flying through time like on wings,

You have not been burned by the heat of your hearts
And the rhythm of the Caucasian drums,
And the proud toastmaster-sage
Did not tell you the parables of the Svans,

Transparent rivers of streamers
Didn’t quench the heady thirst,
And in the ancient church of all Georgians
Did you not sanctify the all-good spirit,

And you have not yet received in your hand
The amber thread of grapes,
And a drop has not quietly flowed
Into the glass of wine of the soul’s joy,

You will never know Sharashidze,
His parsuns and the meaning of color,
That she never tired of searching
The treasures of the fiery sun.

Remember this moment:
Beauty wins and saves,
And inspires you to live to the fullest,
Because the meaning of life exists.

Art is as eternal as love,
The bonds of the soul are intertwined,
It flies over the world again
The Creator’s divine creation…
